Whether you're celebrating a wedding, milestone birthday, anniversary, baby shower, or corporate event, our process is thoughtfully designed to create a cake that is personalized, visually distinctive, and exceptionally memorable
1. Submit Your Inquiry
Begin by completing our inquiry form with your event date, venue, guest count, and any inspiration you would like to share.
Providing detailed information helps us better understand your vision and determine how we can best support your celebration.
2. Cake Tasting & Design Consultation
For wedding cakes and larger custom commissions, we offer a Cake Tasting & Design Consultation.
During this experience, you will enjoy six of our signature flavor pairings while we discuss:
- Your event style and aesthetic
- Design inspiration and color palette
- Floral and décor elements
- Guest count and serving requirements
- Flavor selections
- Budget and investment considerations
This consultation allows us to gain a deeper understanding of your celebration and develop design concepts tailored to your unique vision.
Our tasting consultations are held in Petaluma and provide an enjoyable opportunity to explore ideas for your upcoming event.
3. Custom Design Proposal
Following the consultation, we prepare a personalized proposal outlining your cake design, flavor selections, serving size, delivery details, and investment.
Each cake is custom designed from the ground up, ensuring a one-of-a-kind creation for your event.
4. Secure Your Date
To reserve your event date, a signed agreement and retainer payment are required.
As we accept a limited number of custom commissions each month, bookings are confirmed on a first-come, first-served basis.
5. Design Refinement
As your event approaches, we finalize key details, including:
- Final guest count
- Flavor selections
- Floral coordination
- Delivery logistics
- Venue requirements
We collaborate closely with planners, florists, and other event professionals to ensure a seamless and well-coordinated experience.
6. Creation & Delivery
In the days leading up to your event, your cake is meticulously handcrafted using premium ingredients and refined artistic techniques developed through years of pastry and cake design expertise.
On the day of your event, we provide professional delivery and setup, ensuring your cake is presented beautifully and ready to be enjoyed by your guests.
7. Celebrate
The culmination of the process.

Cake Pricing & Investment
Every Blooming Cakes creation is custom designed and handcrafted specifically for your event.
Celebration Cakes
Custom celebration cakes begin at $330 and serve up to 20 guests.
Most celebration cake commissions range between $330–$800+, depending on size, flavor selections, and design complexity.
Wedding Cakes
Tiered wedding cakes begin at $880.
Most Blooming Cakes wedding cake commissions range from $1,200–$3,500+, with larger installations and highly detailed artistic designs exceeding this range.

A Note on Custom Design
Our cakes are not selected from a catalog.
Each design is thoughtfully developed to complement your celebration, venue, and personal story. Because of this highly customized approach, final pricing is provided through a personalized proposal following our consultation process.
When submitting your inquiry, we encourage you to share your inspiration, guest count, venue, and desired investment range so we can recommend the most suitable design options.
Order Timing
We take every detail of your dream cake seriously and will precisely make your design to the best of my ability. Understanding that flower decorations and figurines can take days to weeks to craft, the farther in advance you can place your order, the better. My schedule generally fills up about a month in advance, and orders placed less than 14 days in advance of their delivery date will incur a rush fee.
